How we size a system

Four steps from first call to switch-on.

1 · Usage review

We read your bills and meter data to see what your evenings really cost — no guesswork.

2 · Site check

Switchboard, phases, inverter compatibility and where the battery physically lives.

3 · Install day

Our own accredited crew — most battery retrofits are done and live in a single day.

4 · Support & warranty

App walkthrough, grid paperwork, battery warranty registration — handled before we leave.

Sizing questions

Asked at almost every kitchen table.

What size battery do I need for my home?

It depends on your evening and overnight usage, not your roof. As a rule of thumb: 20kWh covers a couple or small family, 28kWh suits a family running aircon every night, and 42kWh suits large three-phase homes with EV charging. We size from your actual meter data in the free assessment.

Is my existing solar compatible with a battery?

In most cases yes. We check your current inverter first — some systems take an AC-coupled battery directly, while others save more long-term with a hybrid inverter swap at the same time.

Can the battery power my whole house in a blackout?

Essential-circuit backup (fridge, lights, Wi-Fi, some power points) is standard. Whole-home backup is available on the larger 28kWh and 42kWh configurations, subject to your switchboard.

Can I start smaller and expand later?

Yes — the FoxESS battery lines we install are modular. Many customers start at 20kWh and stack additional modules as an EV or pool pump arrives.
