Why a battery, why now

Solar was step one.
Storage is where the savings are.

Feed-in tariffs keep falling

Exporting your solar for a few cents, then buying it back at night for 30c+ is a bad trade. A battery keeps that value at home.

Evenings are the expensive hours

Cooking, aircon, EV charging — your biggest usage lands exactly when grid prices peak. Stored sunshine covers it.

Backup when the grid drops

Storm season blackouts don’t have to mean a dark house. Backup circuits keep the essentials running automatically.

Federal battery rebate — thousands off, while it lasts

The national Cheaper Home Batteries program discounts installed battery capacity now, with support stepping down over time. We handle the paperwork end to end.

Battery systems

Sized around your evenings,
not off a brochure.

Three proven FoxESS configurations cover most Queensland homes. Every quote starts from your actual usage and switchboard — not a one-size-fits-all package.

Balanced

28 kWh

FoxESS EQ4800 battery stack

For family homes running aircon every night — the sweet spot of price and independence.

  • Hybrid inverter + stacked battery
  • All-evening aircon without grid draw
  • Whole-home backup options

From $6,999 installed · incl. GST, after rebate

Estimate this for my home

CQ7

42 kWh

FoxESS CQ7 battery tower

For big three-phase homes, EV charging and near-total grid independence.

  • Three-phase hybrid architecture
  • Overnight EV charging on sunshine
  • Expandable as your loads grow

From $8,999 installed · incl. GST, after rebate

Estimate this for my home

Ordinary three-phase systems add $500. CQ7 and 15kW inverter options use a different surcharge. Prices include GST and standard installation after the federal battery rebate; backup, equipment changes and site work are confirmed in writing.

How it works

Your whole evening,
running on this afternoon’s sun.

Daytime

Sunshine fills the battery first

Your panels power the house and charge the battery before a single watt is exported for cents.

Evening peak

The battery takes over

From dinner to midnight — the most expensive grid hours — your home runs on stored sunshine.

Overnight & outages

The grid becomes the backup

Instead of your main supply, the grid is just insurance. In a blackout, backup circuits switch over automatically.

We already had solar and wanted to add a battery without replacing the whole system. Sunny energy took the time to understand our power usage and clearly explained the difference between the 28kWh and 42kWh options. There was no pressure to choose the biggest system, and they were upfront about what was included and what still depended on the site. The advice felt practical and honest rather than like a sales pitch!

Adding a battery to our existing solar system sounded simple until we started comparing the options. I wasn't sure whether we needed a bigger unit or whether our current setup would work properly with it. Sunny energy asked about our actual usage, explained the differences and answered the same questions more than once without making us feel silly. We ended up with a setup that made sense for the house, rather than simply buying the biggest battery available. From the first chat to the day it was installed, we knew what was happening and who was responsible for each part. If you already have solar and aren't sure where to start, these guys are worth speaking to.

Really happy with the service from the sunny energy team. I had quite a few questions before going ahead, especially around the installation, warranty and what support would be available afterwards. They were patient, easy to deal with and explained everything clearly without any hard sell. The installers turned up as arranged, did a neat and tidy job, and cleaned up properly afterwards. They also helped me set up the foxess app and showed me how to keep an eye on the system. Communication was good throughout the whole process, and they’ve remained responsive whenever I’ve had a question. The system is working well so far and, based on my experience, I’d be happy to recommend sunny energy.

Really happy with the experience 😊 We had several quotes and honestly found it confusing to compare the battery capacity, inverter, warranty and installation inclusions. They patiently went through the differences with us and also explained what backup circuits could keep running during a blackout. We asked about the pricing more than once, but never felt pressured or rushed. Clear proposal, easy signing process and responsive communication throughout. Would happily recommend them.

I was cautious at first because a battery is a big investment and after-sales support mattered to me. I asked plenty of questions about the warranty, workmanship and who would help if something went wrong later. The Sunny energy team answered everything clearly and never rushed me to sign. Their communication felt personal and local, which gave me confidence that support would still be there after the installation. A professional and reassuring experience overall!

Questions, answered straight

What Queensland homeowners ask us.

How much does a home battery cost in Queensland?

Our current homepage offers include 28kWh from $6,999, promotional EP11 options at $6,999 for 30kWh or $8,499 for 40kWh, and CQ7 systems from $8,999 — including GST and installation, after the federal battery rebate. Your exact price depends on your switchboard and inverter setup, confirmed in writing after the free assessment.

Do I qualify for the federal battery rebate?

Eligibility depends on the battery, its capacity, the solar connection and the accredited installation pathway. The federal program supports eligible 5–100kWh nominal systems, with certificates calculated on the first 50kWh of usable capacity. We confirm the current rules and your exact discount in writing.

Can I add a battery to my existing solar?

Yes — battery retrofits are most of what we do. We check your current inverter’s compatibility first; sometimes the smartest path is a hybrid inverter swap at the same time.

Will the battery run my house in a blackout?

With backup circuits configured, yes — essentials like the fridge, lights and Wi-Fi switch over automatically. Whole-home backup is available on larger systems.

Who actually does the installation?

Our own accredited installation team — not subcontractors we’ve never met. The people who quote your system are the same company that installs and supports it.
